Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy,
#5. Hold on to Christ.
The word “now” is a pivotal point in Jude’s letter. He appears to have reached his conclusion and this is his final statement. Jude makes it clear that Christ is truly the one who keeps us from stumbling on our journey on earth and brings us before God blameless. We need to hold on to Christ
We are blameless only because Christ has taken upon all our sins at the cross. When Christ died on the cross and when we believe in Him, we are hidden in Him (Col 3:3) for eternity.
How does understanding that it is Christ that is keeping you from stumbling and not yourself encourage you?
“This is one of my favourite verses in the bible. It is a great reminder, that salvation for me is eternal and unshakeable.
It is Christ who holds fast to me. It is Him who keeps me from stumbling.
Jesus himself says in John 6:40 that everyone who looks on Him and believes in Him should have eternal life, and He will raise him up on the last day.
My greatest joy is indeed being held by the saviour. There is nothing that I can do that can rip me out of His loving hands. This season, I just want to remember Christ’s incarnation that has made this possible.”
How about you?
